Chatbot vacancy

On average, US Americans think their jobs are less impacted by generative artificial intelligence-based chatbots like ChatGPT than other jobs. Interestingly, they think that generative artificial intelligence may have the greatest impact on jobs that were traditionally thought to be immune to automation. For instance, 56% of respondents in a survey by Pew Research think chatbots will have major impact on software engineering and 54% think they will have a major impact on graphic designers. Another 52% think chatbots will have a major impact on journalists, which is somewhat concerning given the tendency of generative AI to hallucinate and make up things. However, US Americans think their own jobs are less impacted by chatbots with only 19% thinking it has a major impact.
