Dutch innovation
Driven by the relentless demand for computational speed in semiconductors, investments in innovation continue to push the boundaries in physics. But the outlook for innovation is shared by more than only Dutch semiconductor companies. A recent survey by the Dutch national statistics bureau shows more companies expect an increase and R&D investments in 2025. The most important reasons to invest according to the surveyed companies is to improve the quality of products and services. The second and third reasons are changing customer demands and improving productivity, respectively. The sector’s expectation for the largest increase in innovation investments are transportation, manufacturing and leisure. In general, large companies expect a greater increase in investments than smaller companies.
