Funding digital health
Digital health startups in the US raised about USD 6 billion across 244 deals in the first half of 2023. That is substantially less than half of the USD 15 billion and USD 29 billion that was raised in 2022 and 2021. These are challenging times for startups, perhaps a market correction was needed to right-size founder and investor expectations. The question is, what are investors still allocating capital to? In the first half of 2023 key funding areas were non-clinical workflow and practice management, at-home care and value-based care enablement. These areas earned mega deals of USD 100 million or more.
