Household technology budgets
The cost of new smartphones, tablets, laptops, headphones and other personal electronic devices can quickly add up for families. According to Deloitte’s Global State of the Consumer Tracker, the average US household spent USD 805 on new personal electronic devices over the last 12 months. However, 49% of respondents to the Deloitte survey reported they had delayed purchases, and 33% said they could not afford all of the devices their household needed. Over the next year, 63% of consumers expect their consumer electronic budgets to remain the same, 9% expect their budgets to increase, and 7% expect to spend less.
