Jobs in flux
Long-term changes in society are driving job creation and cessation in the US over the next 10 years. An aging population is driving jobs creation in home health and personal care aides, registered nurses and medical health managers. At the same time, our society continues to digitalize, which is driving job creation in software developers and ecommerce-related jobs such as stockers and order fillers and freight movers. Although the later two are also likely the result of a growing economy. Interestingly, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics thinks US Americans will eat healthier given they project 278,000 additional restaurant cooks to be employed by 2032 and 108,000 less fast food cooks. Some occupations are less fortunate, with cashiers, administrative assistants, office clerks and customer service representatives likely being partially replaced by automation and digitalization.
