Mixture of experts
The mixture of experts’ approach to artificial intelligence (AI) involves dividing a complex problem into smaller sub-tasks, each handled by a specialized ‘expert’ model, with a gating mechanism determining which expert’s output to use based on the input, allowing for more efficient and accurate problem-solving. Perhaps a similar approach could be applied to opinion polls. According to a recent survey by the Pew Research Center, only 24% of US adults believe that AI will offer them personal benefit compared to 76% of AI experts. Moreover, 43% of US adults expect AI will harm them, versus only 15% of AI experts.
