Moving in style
The initial response from most people when asked to name a luxury brand is to mention personal luxury goods, such as Hermès, Cartier, or Louis Vuitton. However, around half of spending on luxury and premium consumer items is actually on cars. A very visible form of self-expression, luxury cars from the likes of Ferrari, Mercedes, Rolls-Royce or Porsche cater to the high end of the human need for mobility. Their unique combination of price and volume results in an industry measuring the better half of a trillion euros. The luxury car industry fortunately finds itself well positioned in the transition to electric and intelligent mobility, as its selling points of performance, technology, and refinement are some of the key improvements offered by an electric powertrain and assisted and autonomous driving.
