New highs
AI-related stocks are not the only ones recording new highs. January 2024 was the warmest recorded ever, with a global surface air temperature of 13.14℃, according to the European Copernicus Climate Change Service. The January recording was 1.66℃ higher than the average January during the pre-industrial period 1850-1900. January was also the 8th consecutive month during which the recording marked a new high temperature for that respective month. The January data also follows on from 2023, which marked the warmest year on record since recordkeeping began in 1880. According to the US National Air and Space Administration, the Earth was 1.36℃ warmer in 2023 than in the average of the pre-industrial period.
