New Year's resolutions
Saving more money as a New Year’s resolution has jumped from 4th place in 2023 to 2nd place in 2024 in the UK. Perhaps a reflection of pandemic savings coming down, and price inflation pinching the wallets of consumers. In 2023, 30% of those making New Year’s resolutions wanted to save more money, but this has since risen to 49%. Health and well-being related goals remain the most common and are also rising in popularity. About 16% of Britons make New Year’s resolutions, up from 14% last year according to opinion polling company YouGov. New Year’s resolutions are much more popular among younger people than older people with 29% of 18-to-24-year-olds making New Year's resolutions compared to only 6% of those aged 65 or older.
We wish you a happy and succesful 2024!
