Online dating
The social stigma of online dating, or rather online matchmaking as the intention is to continue offline, continues to decrease with about 9% of all US adults having used an online dating platform in the past year. Logically, usage is more common among younger adults, with 15% of those aged 18-49% having used an online platform in the past year. Although many loving relationships have started with an online match, average experience continues to be quite poor with 46% of US adults saying their experience has been negative or somewhat negative. Additionally, 61% of women report they’ve experienced unwanted behavior. Thus, there’s work to do for online dating companies.
