Share the road
Just 42% of Gen Z consumers (those aged under 30) use a privately owned vehicle in the EU according to a recent McKinsey survey. By comparison, 77% of those aged over 45 use a privately owned vehicle. Gen Z transportation modes are notably diverse with the majority of their transportation needs spread across public transit, ride hailing, car-share, micro-mobility and pooled mobility. To attract younger consumers, some new car sales and leases offer owners the ability to rent out vehicles part of the time. According to the McKinsey, nearly 55% of Gen Z consumers are open to sharing their private vehicles with others.
