Tablet generation
In the US, 81% of households with children own a tablet, like Apple’s iPad and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab. The figure excludes e-readers like Amazon’s Kindle. A significantly fewer 57% of households without children own a tablet. Notably, 89% of households with children own a tablet where at least one parent holds a bachelor’s degree, compared to just 60% for those with less than a high school level of education. While tablets and computers are increasingly used for education, the US National Survey of Children’s Health found that 26% of children spend four or more hours per day in front of a screen outside of schoolwork.
