Working graduates
In the European labor market there is more and more room for young people. Over the past 10 years, with the exception of the pandemic-affected 2020, the employment rate of recent graduates has been increasing significantly, going from 74.3% in 2013 to 83.5% in 2023. Recent graduates are defined as individuals aged between 20 and 34 who completed their studies within the past 1 to 3 years at secondary or tertiary education levels, that is, from high school degree onward. Eurostat data also shows that in 2023, among EU countries, the highest employment rates were recorded in Malta with 96%, followed by the Netherlands at 93% and Germany with 92%, while the lowest rates were reported in Italy with 68%, Greece with 72% and Romania with 75%.
