TV screens have recently surpassed phones in terms of YouTube advertising spending. Total spending on YouTube ads on TV screens was up 88% compared to last in year in Q1. In February this year, YouTube officially released that television was the primary viewing device across all of its services as of the end of 2024. YouTube has grown into a large advertising business bringing in USD 36 billion of revenues in 2024. Video streaming services like YouTube, but also Netflix, Prime Video and HBO Max continue to attract more advertising dollars.
